How to send a welcome canvas with double opt-in
Hi all!
We recently implemented double opt-in for email subscribers. How do I account for this in a welcome canvas? I'm using our our custom attributes for email newsletters for users to enter the canvas. How long will the canvas hold users to give them time to verify their email through double opt-in?
For example, I'm a new user signing up for a morning newsletter. My subscription triggers the email verification message, and then I also want to send a welcome message. Can I have the canvas hold someone until they verify their email and then send the welcome?

If you are using the "opted in" global subscription state to indicate a user has verified / double opted in, one option is to trigger the welcome Canvas on that change to "opted in" using the "Update Subscription Status" trigger. Then you could include the custom attributes as filters on the entry audience.

To account for double opt-in in your welcome canvas, you can set up a conditional hold that waits for users to verify their email. Use the email verification status as a trigger within the canvas. The canvas can hold users until they verify their email ensuring the welcome message is only sent after confirmation. Typically you can configure the hold period to accommodate verification such as 24-48 hours, but this depends on your specific platform capabilities.
