Segmentation
61 TopicsRandomisation of users filtered by a segment for a canvas or campaign
Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone could clarify whether or not user selection for canvases / campaigns is randomised, or will users always be entered into a canvas in the same order after running through segments and filters? I thought I'd read somewhere that user entry into a canvas is random, but now I can't find reference to that anywhere. Basically, if we had a canvas that entered a given number of users every day based on some criteria, would it always be the same set of users that are entered, or would this be random? Thanks in advance.Solved1.2KViews0likes10CommentsNeed help with Regex
Hi team, I want to include a set of users to an existing segment. This segment will be used for exclusions in all promotional campaigns. Let's call that segment as Level 3. The set of users are subscribers for a specific product. I know that I can't create a segment only for these set of users and include that segment in Level 3 as Level 3 is used in all marketing campaigns and Braze doesn't alllow me to do that. Therefore, one way to bell this cat is to use a "match regex" filter condition in Level 3 to identify that cohort that I want to exclude. The regex can target a custom attribute called "Active_Accounts". The "Active_Accounts" is a string and lists all the active account numbers for the user. The account numbers are comma separated and the product that I am targeting ( for the set of users) appears as the first value in "Active_Accounts". The account number for the set of users will follow this pattern : oabc-32HABHCPUV {10} or odefg-12AAAAAB {8} etc. But the account number always starts with a 'o' (lower caps). Need help to create a regex that I can match from the "Active_Accounts" so I can include this set of users in Level 3 using the match regex filter1.2KViews0likes9CommentsCustom Attribute with Date not filtering
Hi everyone! We're having issues to use the filters for dates on a Custom Attribute field. We tested this on segments to get the exact calculation, and we get 0 users. We tried with 'more than', 'less than', and all other options. The only option that works is when using 'is not blank'. The format used to upload this by our Data Team was 'yyyy-mm-dd' as '2024-02-08'. Also, from the Dashboard Menu, going through Data Setting / Custom Attributes we saw that the objects are being automatically detected as Time. Does any else had this issue? How are you uploading date custom attributes? Thanks!Solved1.1KViews0likes7CommentsBraze Geofences Feature
Hi Braze Bonfire! I wanted to ask if anyone is willing to share their experiences with using the Geofences feature that's native to Braze. What were the pros and cons, successes/challenges, and are you able to reach a wide enough audience to make these geofence campaigns worth creating? I'm curious how accurate the Geofence feature is, i.e. how precisely does the Geofence campaign trigger when a user walks within the Geofence radius, and I'm also curious how you navigate the requirement of users having to grant "Always" location permission for these features. It's a super cool feature, but I haven't heard too many use cases of the Geofence feature, so I'd love to learn and chat about any usage! Thanks so much. Hello guys, I am trying to refresh and update my segments and I need to specify some custom events based on last time the user did. Seems its limited to 30 days only, is there any alternative way or a solution to create segment lets say 180 or 360 days? Thanks in advance!Solved825Views0likes5CommentsSegmenting on a custom location field
Hi all, I've currently got a use case where I want to target a Braze canvas at customers who have previously ordered within a given radius of a specific location. We don't use Braze's SDK based location tracking, and don't need to (we don't need that granularity, and don't need real time location of customers), but do have location points that we would like to use and segment on. The way I'd like to do this is: Store the location we're interested in as custom property on the customer's profile as lat / long. Use this custom to be the centre of a location radius in a segment filter. In the same way as we can do for `most recent location` as shown in this screenshot: I can't find any reference to a location data type for custom properties. Clearly Braze is capable of doing such location based calculations, and has the concept of location - but this seems to be something that is very tightly coupled to use location tracking in the SDK, and not more arbitrary location operations. We don't want to be tracking users as such, but do have specific relevant locations stored in our system. We'd like to be able to send these over to Braze so that we can use them in segment filters - but I can't see anywhere in the documentation whether this is possible or not. At present we are able to use connected audience filters to segment based on postcodes (using a regex), but we'd prefer to be more accurate re radius from a given point. Any help or pointers with this would be hugely appreciated.749Views0likes5CommentsNested custom attributes in Custom HTML messages
Hi everybody! I am currently working on a HTML multipage survey IAM. There are 7 different topics that i want to ask users their level of interest on (with a scale from 1 to 5). I was thinking of making a nested custom attribute to keep the amount of different custom attributes for the same survey at a minimum. My question is; does anybody know if it is possible to send a nested custom attribute to Braze with javascript? (I am not that well versed in javascript :D)733Views0likes6CommentsCustom Events Vs Custom Attributes
Just want to hear your thoughts on how your teams reacted when they are told to think about leveraging more custom events and harnessing the event properties for segmentation and message personalisation rather than hosting data points on the users' profiles. What's been your journey?699Views0likes4CommentsBuild a segment to visualise specific mail client users
Hello, Can anyone please show me how you build a segment of recipients/users who use a specific email client (or would read my emails on it). For example, the users who use:Outlook 2010 Windows 10 I looked up via User Attributes but can't seem to narrow it down to Outlook 2010 but I am sure some of you gurus must have nailed it. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Aaron658Views0likes4Comments
